Obituary of Dominick J. Dellaquila
Dominick J. Dellaquila, age 90, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2019. Born and raised in Chester, PA; he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Dellaquila and he has lived in Wilmington for the past 42 years. He worked as a welder and truck driver for 70 years. Never actually retiring, he continued to work when 90 years old. Dominick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of DEL Vets Post #1 and the Eagles Club in Claymont. He enjoyed doing yard work, was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed bowling and softball in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerrie Adams Dellaquila. Dominick is survived by his two sons, Joseph (Carole) Dellaquila and Anthony (Lana) Dellaquila; long-time companion Gloria McConnell; five grandchildren, Nicky (Gretchen) Dellaquila, Erin Kyle, Anthony (A.P.) Dellaquila, Elizabeth (Zac) Kreiser, Joseph Dellaquila; 2 great grandchildren, Roman and Vivian Dellaquila, his two siblings, Anthony and Laura Dellaquila; his five furry friends, Brittle, River, Sandy, Bruce, and Vinny. A visitation will be held on Thursday, 10-11 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral liturgy at 11 AM. Interment will be at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to your local SPCA organization.
