Obituary of John C. Kummerer

John C. Kummerer, age 81 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on January 8, 2020 at Rose Court at Maris Grove. Born to Cletus H. and Ruth Chatten Kummerer in Chester, PA, he resided the past 12 years at the Maris Grove Community in Glen Mills, PA, previously residing in Brookhaven where he raised his family. John worked as a stockman for General Motors in Wilmington, DE for over 21 years before his retirement. Devoted to his faith, he was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Wallingford, PA, and at one time, served on the church council. John was very active at Maris Grove including the Train Club. He also enjoyed building model airplanes and boats. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his baby sister, Violet Kummerer. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret A. White Kummerer, 5 children; Brenda (Stephen) Milko, Karen (William) Reardon, Margaret McAndrew, Bonnie Nichols, & John C. (Barbara) Kummerer, Jr., a granddaughter whom they raised, Kristina Kummerer, 14 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9:30-11:00AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 927 South Providence Rd, Wallingford, PA, 19086, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM. Interment to remain private.
