Obituary of James Willard Atkins

James Willard Atkins, age 70, of Hudson, FL passed away at Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media, PA on Thursday, June 8, 2016. Born and raised in Pontiac, MI, James resided in Fairfax, VA and moved to his permanent home of Florida for the last 17 years. James was an accomplished scholar who graduated from the Oakland University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. James was a parishioner of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Hudson, FL, a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Galilean Gospel Quartet. James had a true passion for the beauty of music, and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. James is preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia Lorene (Holder) Atkins, grandson J.W. Linn, and former wife Dortha Gayle Wright. James is survived and missed by his wife of 21 years Dianne L. Atkins, daughter Jacqueline (Edwin Szeto) and son Christian (Misty) Atkins, 3 stepchildren John (Michelle) Linn, Cherise (Matthew) Heinen and Katie (Joseph) Holland, 8 grandchildren Abigayle Atkins, Joshua Linn, Catherine Heinen and Madeline Heinen, Ella, Jack, Will and Carter Holland, and Landen Wright, and two sisters Carolyn Bradley and Sharley Cambell. Relatives and friends are invited to James' Funeral Services on Tuesday, June 14, at 11AM, where family and friends may call from 10:30-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. Burial will follow to Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Garnet Valley, PA. In lieu of flowers, a donation in James' name can be made to the Brandywine Summit Campground, 119 Beaver Valley Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
