Obituary of Dina Simonoff
Dina Simonoff, age 96 of Upper Chichester, PA died on March 13, 2020 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Chicago, IL, she resided for the past 4 1\2 years in Upper Chichester, PA, having previously lived for over 50 years in Long Beach, NY. Dina was an artist, specializing in painting. She taught adult and children's art classes, including at college level, for many years. She was an avid dancer, including public performances, and was a young actress in New York, living a bohemian life in 1940's Greenwich Village, where she met her husband, also an artist. In recent years, she often joined her daughter Neena in attendance at Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Marcus Hook. She enjoyed reading, watching TV (Doc Martin and Father Brown were favorites), meals with her family, and marveling at the beauty of nature. She was a delight to be around, with her joyous smile, exuberant outlook, sunny optimism, and playful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Harry and Rose Brown Friedman, Dina is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Simonoff and sister, Shirley Dietch. She is survived by two children, Neena Deibler and her husband Dean Deibler, and Jonathan Simonoff and his wife Patricia Caplan; her brother, Herb Friedman MD; and grandchildren, Brian, Emma, Angela, and Jason, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, 11AM at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 307 Market St., Marcus Hook, PA 19061. Interment will remain private.
