Obituary of Patricia H. Hills
Patricia (Pat) H. Hills passed away peacefully at her home in Glen Mills, PA Wednesday May 27, 2020. She was 89.
Pat was born March 9, 1931, the only child of Robert and Audrey Harris of Tampa, FL. Following school, Pat worked in TV both in front and behind the lens, for WTVT in Tampa, FL where she met John L. Hills. They married and moved to San Fransisco, CA where she had two sons, John and Robert. Pat worked as a film editor for Lockheed and later went back to school to become an LPN. The family resided in Huntsville, AL briefly, then settled in Northern VA. Pat worked for Reston Nursing Services where she cared for at home patients. She then focused her efforts full time to running a small farm the family purchased in Purcellville, VA where the family resided for over 25 years. Pat touched the lives of many who knew her. Following John's retirement, the couple moved to Annapolis, MD where she and John were active in the local sailing community. To escape the cold, Pat and John relocated to Punta Gorda, FL where they enjoyed tennis, golf, and painting. They finally settled in Glen Mills PA.
Pat was a very strong and compassionate woman, matriarch of the family, and good friend to those who knew her. She put her family first and could always be counted on for her honest opinion. She was an accomplished equestrian, golfer, sailor, painter and avid tennis player through her mid 80's. She enjoyed travel, reading, and the company of her family. She leaves behind her husband John of over 60 years, her two sons John and Robert, daughters-in-law Angela and Nicole, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren dispersed across the country and world. She is to be cremated and her ashes spread over the Chesapeake Bay at a future date.
