Ray was an undeniably great friend to me through high school and college. We shared many successes and failures together on the field and in life. I have tried to spend the last week reminiscing on the good times we had together(and the trouble we got in) and found myself smiling and laughing way more often than not.
Ray and I grew apart in recent years as life took us in different directions, but I will always remember Ray as a man who passionately put his loved ones above anything and everything.
I was extremely saddened to get this news and my heart goes out to Mr and Mrs Carr, and the whole Carr family.

I met Ray only recently as my PT after shoulder surgery on the recommendation of Joe Conte. I couldn't have found a more Professional caring person. He put me back in shape amazingly quickly and his wonderful personality came through during my treatments. I owe him a promised round of golf... so Joe and I will go out one day in his honor. I will miss you buddy.

I feel like I watched Ray grow up from a young kid playing baseball with my brother and going to the beach, to a young man who could accomplish anything he put his mind to. He was caring, smart and kind. He will be missed by so many people. I pray his family finds comfort in knowing how he impacted his community and how he will be remembered. Sending love to you during this devastating time.
Love,

My sincerest condolences to Ray’s family. I worked with Ray in Williamsburg, Virginia. He became a good friend and mentor during our time together working at PEAK. He actually wrote one of my letter of recommendations that led to my acceptance into a physical therapy program myself. This year I graduated, and I aspire to be a physical therapist like Ray. He was passionate about his work, and loved by his patients. As there are very few Eagles fan in Virginia, he also was someone I could finally watch the games with. He will be greatly missed.

I was a patient of Ray's recently. I was there every week for a while, and always there just to see him specifically. He was so knowledgeable, kind, and funny, and after a long course of treatment, he was one of the few who was able to help me.
To his friends, family, and colleagues, I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Carr Family,
I went to high school with Ray at Concord. Ray was and is a shining light, and a natural leader. Even for those like me, who were not in Ray’s close circle of friends, he had a way of making everyone feel as though they were.
Although not everyone knew Ray personally, they knew of him. They knew of him for the dignity and respect he showed to every person he encountered, for the compassion he had for others, for his willingness to help both friends and strangers, for his genuine interest in the other half of a conversation, and for an infinite list of additional qualities and characteristics of greatness.
He is one of the finest human beings I have ever known.
I tender to you my sincerest condolences, and pray that Ray’s memory be an eternal blessing to you.

A conversation in Heaven
- "Wow, what is going on? Why are there so many over there and everyone is clapping?"
- "Oh they are welcoming home someone very special."
-"Who is he?"
-" He is Raymond Carr III. He is being greeted by many relatives and friends, He has his dogs here too - Teddy, Beau and Jada, and Nicky the family cat. His grandfathers and his uncle John are with him too."
-"Why is everyone clapping for him?"
- "Oh you see, he is a special one. He has touched many lives on earth and has changed many lives to become better. Yes, he helped people and did good things and that is God's favorite thing, to care for others."
- "How do you know so much about him?"
- "I'm his guardian angel. I have been with him since before he was born. I walked with him throughout his life and saw the person he became. I'm so proud of him and God is proud of him too. I helped him at his moment to walk across to heaven. I was with him every step of the way. His grandfathers and his uncle were the first to greet him. He is one special guy! You see, God loves him and wants him to be with us in Heaven. God needs him here- I think God is planning to make him a guardian angel. What a reward!"
I love you Ray, Colleen, Kelly and Jill.

Dear Colleen, Ray, Kelly and Jillian, Our family is so sad to hear of the passing of Ray. He was such a special part of our family when he was a young boy. I still remember times with the boys talking away in the back of the car while I drove them somewhere. I can remember them playing in the backyard together and just being good friends. Time has passed and I see on the photos of social media that Ray has grown to be a handsome, hard working man. Treasure your memories and know we are all keeping you in our prayers. Ray was my PT for the the last 3 years. He was an incredible professional, but more importantly an incredible person and friend. His laugh and his ability to make you feel like family from the first time you met him will never be forgotten and will be deeply missed. I was heartbroken to hear the news and I hope you and your family can find peace in knowing how many people Ray touched and helped become better humans not only physically, but all around. I loved talking Phillies, Catching, and picking his brain to incorporate methods and techniques into my movement classes at school with my students and my two sons. I will miss him dearly and know he is on God's PT team now keeping everyone in heaven "Swole and Flexy". God Bless you Ray, Rest in Peace Brother.

This picture was taken around 4/25/14 in Chatham VA on the final day of his four month long internship with me as his clinical instructor. We learned a lot together during that winter. We served many patients and students during that time and we also played basketball and exercised vigorously.
I vividly remember Ray was the first person to ever persuade me to perform 100 burpees as fast as possible...I was sore for days! We also had Friday deadlift parties.
We laughed a lot together and truly bonded over that time. We stayed close over the years as I had the honor of guiding him through some of his professional endeavors. Ray was a committed professional with a keen wit and most certainly a loyal friend.
I will miss him deeply...
