Obituary of Vincent J. Kane
Vincent J. Kane, age 68 of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2020 surrounded by his family at home.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in S.W. Philadelphia, Vince resided in West Chester for the last five years, after living for 35 years in Garnet Valley, PA. An engineer, Vince was the founder and owner of DCM Associates, an engineering firm, for over 20 years. He retired in 2013. He graduated from West Catholic High School in 1970 and earned his Bachelor's from Spring Garden College in 1974. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Glen Mills, and more recently, was a parishioner of St. Agnes in West Chester where he was a member of the parish’s men's group, The Kingsmen.
Vince was authentically humble, indisputably intelligent, and unwaveringly faithful. He lived to provide the best possible life for his wife and his daughters. He worked hard to give them everything he could, while teaching them to be capable and independent. He loved being on the water and spending time at his home in Sea Isle each summer.
Vince is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond V. and Margaret R. (nee O'Donnell) Kane. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rose "Cookie" (nee Iacona) Kane, his two daughters, Marissa (Morgan) Crozier and Deanna (Mark) Altschuler, and two granddaughters, Lila Rose and Ruby Jude Altschuler, that he loved endlessly. He is also survived by his seven siblings, Peggy (Joe) McCloskey, Joan (Greg) Judice, Ray (Patty) Kane, Kathleen Bonenberger, Maureen Callahan, Janet (Mark) Lukes and Regina (Dave) Tannenbaum, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 9:00-10:15 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
