Very sad to lose a wonderful man such as Andrew. I had the pleasure of working with Andrew for several years in the SAP world. He was a joy to be with even during challenging times. His laugh was the best thing about Andrew that I remember, and of course his intelligence and brilliance in solving the most difficult technical challenges.
I hope that his family can find peace in knowing that Andrew is smiling down on all of us.

Andrew ..'Laing' to his friends...... was the example of what a true bredren represents...being direct but never offensive... kind and considerate, private yet public , progressive yet operating with humility.... a empathic towards people...and a bredren no matter the distance or time lapse between any physical or virtual connection,...operated in the same real manner as if he was speaking to you just yesterday....never change....
May the memory of your many good deeds and selfless service to several communities be of long lasting comfort to your family and many friends and also to your brothers from other mothers ..
Rest in peace bro .....

Ling was one of a kind.
He consumed life in such a way that even though he has left us prematurely, he has lived more than many of us have or will.
He was limitlessly thoughtful and generous never turning away from a friend in need but at the same time, being incredibly astute and therefore the last person anyone would TRY to take advantage of.
Rest well bro.

Andrew and I shared a special bond after getting to know him in Pittsburgh, PA. We were separated by 1 day of birth (Nov 10 and 11) and I felt that missing Len-and-Ling moment as we had celebrated birthdays over the years. We are deeply saddened with Ling's departure and we pray for the peace and comfort of Gabby and Nina through these times. May his spirit forever spur you into fulfilling life's dreams and journey as he would have always wished for you (Nina and Gabby). Love you - Len, Mon, Lenique and Anya.

My life and my "territory" has been significantly enhanced because he was involved. To him, I was "sista Juds". To me he was not only a brother and friend, but was a confidante and my protector. He was caring and compassionate and continued to be this throughout the years. It meant so much to me when he reached out to me again at one of the lowest times of my life. His sincere love and empathy knew no bounds.
The memories are overwhelming and the loss cuts deeply. I will never forget meeting him on Campus as a freshers on Seacole Hall. We connected through friends and our Spanish Town roots served to deepen our connection. Andrew had an impact on me then and still does even today. He helped to me make me who I am today. He touched my life in an unforgettable way. He had a way to make each person feel so special; that was his indelible mark, dare I say his gift.
May the God of all comfort, comfort us all as we mourn this loss, comfort his wife, daughter and other family members. You will always be in our hearts, Ting-A-Ling.

Andrew Dean it's St George we have done many things together, fought many fights, won many battles. We were never supposed to get to this place. never supposed to lead a university, and then the world, We were supposed to fight and opposed each other, Taylor vs Chancellor, but that never happened following your lead we took it to another level to fight the system and unite the student body. From there it was to the nation and the world, Jamaica became too small and so now is the world you have taken the fight to the beyond. a true lion king of the jungle a trail blazer. everything you do was well thought out so you came 11/11/70 and you leaving 11/11/20 stroke of genius. Andrew Hamilton, aka Junglist, loved and lived life to the fullest. He exemplified the highest level of intellect, simplified. Junglist would break down the most complex equation to basic elementary understanding. This was my experience with Andrew from the days we bonded in my fourth form years in High school onwards. In High school Andrew would sometimes be teaching the teacher. This is one of the things I loved about Andrew he was never afraid to contradict the norms and lived life his way.
Andrew built relationship bridges every day with everyone he met. His infectious smile would win people over instantaneously. Coupled with his arguments to cement his position on issues or topics being discussed.
What I loved about Andrew most was his ability to make connections with people from diverse walks of life and backgrounds. Junglist always kept it "Real".
If there is one thing we have to hold on to is that Andrew positively impacted the lives of many by always going above and beyond and most times out of his way to help others.
In our last conversation he was absolutely positive about beating the odds. If there is one takeaway from Andrew's lifestory is that we should emulate his passion for life, compassion for people with the mix of fighting spirit, and perseverance he always displayed. Junglist never gave up and always had HOPE!
Nina and Gabby you both meant the world to Andrew. He would boast about his two girls every time we spoke. May his memory live on through you both. My prayers and love are with you both. Nuff Love!

Rest well my friend, my brother. To be your friend meant you always had my back, even if time and distance kept us apart. I'll be forever grateful for the 28 years of friendship I was granted. Deepest condolences to Nina and Gabby and to the many that love you, and there are so many. You touched so many lives and made such an impact in the time you were able to have you. The world will never by the same...say his name Andrew Dean Hamilton. RIP.

Paul Oxide Brown introduced me to him and my first thought was how is this freshman so self-assured and unintimidated by his new environment? His maturity was only matched by how much he threw himself into every experience with total abandon. He always gave everything he had to give; as a student when he defended you or didn't withhold showing that he cared about you it was every inch as valuable as his magnanimous gestures and philanthropy later in life. He didn't even have to like you to go all out for you his actions were a reflection of his own personal standards. My condolences to Nina whose idea of relationships was transformed from the pragmatic to the fairytale from that first dance. My condolences to his family and friends many of whom are also my friends, whose grief has been hanging over me. May we all one day reach the point where we can pull out the memories without being swamped by sadness. I light a gold candle for Chancellor Hall that he loved so much and brought many of us to him.

I was so happy to have been touched by the light of Andrew's brilliance. Blinded by his technical capability, I stood in awe of his ability to connect the most complex problems to simple solutions. I am forever changed as a result. You didnt linga long but that feeling of electricity you gave us will be with us always bc we know that electricity never dies or just keeps transforming and transforming. Rest in Power Andrew.

I do hope my words give you comfort to know... His memories will be become our heartbeats.... His smiles, our shine... For the lion may have left the den, but he created the best years, showing love, altruism, charitable works, humanitarianism, and comfort to all. Rest up kind Sir... My thoughts and condolences to Andrew's family and friends❤.
To his daughter Gabby... When you look in the mirror, you will see a hint of your father's eyes. You will see him in the outline of your smile... And today, even today, when envisioning the future, see him smiling from the past. He was so proud of you!

When the darkness of death strikes it lasts eternal. I will not allow this darkness to define my friendship with Andrew for he was one of those filaments that shone in my life from late August 1992 to early November 2020. A lightening rod that constantly flashed at every momentous occasion. Death will not steal you away from us Ling. You will continue to shine brightly even if your effervescent mortality has been deemed until your glorious rise. RIP my friend and revel in the eternal and abandoned forever after.

Sending love and hugs to your family and friends. Andrew ran a quick race through life, but he impacted those who knew and loved him. He left many memories that will carry you through those lonely moments. I will keep the family in prayers, Father God knows best. RIP Andrew

Man is lonely by birth. Man has only a short time on earth. Born to be king, life is just a temporary thing only a short time on earth.
My friend and brother you were an inspiration to all. Selfless, kind, sincere are just a few words that I can find to describe you. You will be greatly missed.
As the bells toll "ting -a-ling", we are comforted by the fact that we had the opportunity to be a part of the life of a great human being.
Walk good my brother.

Su-Ling, Me-Ling, Fu-Ling...liked messing around with your hall name and giving it different flavours which you used to laugh about but cuss me out same time.
My brother...You were a light in our lives, a bulwark of a friend who was always there for us with a natural laugh that could heard for miles upon miles. We still hear your laugh, see your smile and will honour your memory always. Love to Nina and Gabby.

I will miss his great sense of humor, bright smile and warm nature. He graciously hosted our neighborhood picnic with Gabby and Nina each year making his famous jerk chicken and sharing his home. Truly one of the "great guys", rest in peace. Love and miss you buddy, may your light shine...
