Obituary of Joseph E. Adams

Joseph E. Adams, age 66 of Newark, DE passed away on December 2, 2020 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Gettysburg, PA, Joseph resided for over 20 years in Newark, DE, previously residing in Rising Sun, MD. A blacksmith farrier, Joseph was a devout catholic and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Wilm., DE. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and had a love of horses. In addition to his parents, Jack H. and Jean Alice Strausser Adams, Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, John Adams. He is survived by 2 sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" Gwaltney and Valerie Adams. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 9:30-10:30AM at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 408 S. Harrison St.,Wilmington, DE 19805, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30AM. Interment will be held on Friday 10:30AM at St. Collumbkille Cemetery, Imperial, PA.
