Aunt Gerrie, you were the kindest, sweetest, most caring and loving person. You would do anything for anyone. You were the best Aunt, God Mother, and like my second mom. I was sad to move to Florida year s ago away from you, Uncle Mick and family. I enjoyed coming up over the summers and other times. I also loved when you would come to Florida. We had so many good times together over the years. I enjoyed our talks on the phone over the years. You will be greatly missed and loved forever. I know you are in heaven with Uncle Mick, my mom and many others. You were such a special person. God bless you always and forever.

I was so sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. We have been friends since first grade. I spent many times visiting at Aunt Mary’s house. My deepest condolences to her family. She was always talking about her beloved Mickey. I’m sure she will be happy seeing him in his heavenly home.

Heaven gained a very special angel, my mother-in-law, Geraldine. A large and important part of our lives, especially having shared our home for nearly 12 years, she always treated me like a daughter with genuine kindness and unconditional love. She gave me the most precious gift I could ever ask for, my partner in life and very best friend, her son. May she now rest in eternal peace alongside her mother, Mike's father, and her beloved canine companion, little Duke.

Truly the best mom and mom-mom anyone could ask for!
Mom, there is so much I could say of how great of a person you were. You were always there for me if I needed anything from a little child on up, ALWAYS there in good times and bad times too. You took the best care of us when Mike and I got sick. You were there for everything for us. I have a lot of great memories of our times together, we did A LOT together. You always allowed my friends to come to our house when I was growing up and they would say how nice you treated them. I feel EVERYONE that ever entered our house definitely felt welcomed by you. When my sons, Freddie & Tyler, came along you helped raise them from babies on up. You did so much for them, truly a GREAT mom-mom to them. You would make picnics in your living room for their lunches and have their friends come over to play in the yard and pool. Everything was always appreciated and I know you do know that. You were at all of their baseball games and of course all of the soccer games. The “soccer mom-mom”. You even traveled with me three hours one way for a college soccer game. Truly the most dedicated and caring person for her family that I’ve ever known. I hope I am at least half the wonderful mom and wonderful mom-mom that you have been. You had your share of bad times in life, but you just kept getting stronger – you became so strong after dad passed away. I’ve said that so many times I was proud of that about you. The past few years were difficult with your dementia, but we did the best we could and deep down I know you know that. You would thank me every time I did something for you, I would tell you no need to thank me, I’m just taking care of you as you did for me many years. Even this last weekend together you thanked me when I would give you a drink or help you. We kept your wish of you not going into a nursing home and you did not go into the hospital as you did not want either. I prayed to God and Dad for a long time for you to not suffer at the end, I truly feel you did not suffer as you talked to me up to just a few minutes before you passed and said to me “I’m fine I’m ok”. I know You and Dad will always be looking down on all of us and wanting us to be happy and healthy.
Love Always, Kathy

Dear Mom,
Thank you for being my best friend, as I was to you. We went through everything together. When I was a very sick child with asthma, it was you that sat up all night long in my bed with me to comfort me while I was having my asthma attacks. It was you who would sit and talk to me and explain why I was not able to go outside and play in the snow with my friends while I was recovering from an asthma attack, bronchitis, or pneumonia as a kid. It was you who would console me, when I didn't have a good baseball game. You always put me first in your life. I always appreciated you, while you were raising me. You made me the man I am today. But when I grew up, I appreciated you and our relationship even more. We always would do anything for one another. But, when you grew older and more sickly especially with your dementia the last few years, it was then my turn to take care of you. I owed you that. I hope you know that I did the best job I could trying to take care of you and your needs, even to the detriment of myself in some cases. I gave you your wish of living with me and not having you put in a nursing home for further care. I owed you that. I know you know how much I loved you, and I know how much you loved me. That will never change. Even though we must say good-bye for now, until we meet again. I know your suffering is over, and you can spend time with Mick again now. Please RIP Angel! Thank you for being my best friend, as I was to you.
Love,
Always and Forever,
Your Very Much Appreciative Son,
Michael Stephen Bateman

Mrs Bateman, or as I called her “Mommom Bateman” and that name came with so much love. Where to begin? From watching us every day after school to spending almost the entire summer at your house and immaculate pool! You always called me and my brother your other two grandsons and we knew you meant that with all of your heart. You were at every sporting event I was at because I was always on Tyler’s team, and I could always pick your voice out of the crowd cheering me on. Watch over us! Much love!
