Obituary of Elizabeth D. Hallstrom

Elizabeth (Betty) Rice Hallstrom Betty, age 97, died on January 16, 2021, at Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA. She was born in Philadelphia in 1923. She graduated from Frankford High School and Peirce Business School. Betty proudly served in the Navy as a WAVE during World War II. She worked for the A. I. DuPont School District in Wilmington for many years. Betty was an avid bridge player and reader, and she loved following politics. She would have been so pleased to watch our first female Vice President be sworn into office! Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Don, and her brother, Bill, of Philadelphia. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses: Carol (Craig) Chamberlin of Naples, FL, Sue (Scott) Vivian of North East, MD, and Craig (Ann) Hallstrom of Newark, DE, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Rose Court and Willow Tree Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Services will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
