Obituary of John Fleming Smith

John Fleming Smith, 91, of Aston, PA passed away at The Glen at Willow Valley in Lancaster, PA on April 17, 2021. Born to John and Barbara Parker Smith in Chester, PA on April 14,1930. John was a long-time resident of Aston, PA, previously residing in Lancaster PA. As a youth, John earned his Eagle Scout Badge which is the highest achievement/rank in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Chester High School and was employed by Sun Oil Co. for over 35 years. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris Collins Smith, who passed in 2012. He is survived by his children; Robert (Deborah) Smith, Dale (Joan) Smith, Lynda (Rick) Houtz, and John (Laurie) Smith. He was a longtime member of Aston Presbyterian Church. John was also very involved in his community, where he enjoyed coaching youth sports like the Sun Oil little league, Aston Valley Little League, and Aston Biddy Basketball. Most of all John loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will remain private.
