Obituary of Jeanne E. Hudecheck
Jeanne Hudecheck (Edge), age 77, passed away June 15, 2021 at Jenners Pond in Jennersville, PA after a 5 month battle with cancer. Jeanne grew up in Collingdale, PA. Growing up in a boating family her and her sister spent many summers in their youth water skiing off of their fathers boat. Jeanne graduated from Collingdale High School in 1962 where she played field hockey, basketball and was a cheerleader. Shortly after graduating high school she was married and started her family. She became a stay at home mom for her 3 children until they got into elementary school and then she started pursuing her college degree. She graduated from West Chester University in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in special education and then went on to receive her master's degree in special education from Temple University. She started her teaching career in 1975 as a special education teacher at Sharon Hill High School, which later became Academy Park High School. She taught there for 31 years, retiring in 2006. She spent many years as the senior class sponsor and was also the special education department chair. She was very well liked by her colleagues and her students. After retiring she continued as a substitute teacher for both the Kennett and Avon Grove School Districts. Jeanne was an animal lover who has had many pets over the years. She leaves behind her dog Molly which she rescued and her 20 year old cat Bitty. Jeanne was the daughter of the late Elmer W. & Elinor Edge. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronald K. Hudecheck, Sr., and her sister, Evelyn Mink (Edge). She is survived by her sons, Michael Hudecheck (Karen) of Perryville, MD, Ronald K. Hudecheck, Jr. (Jackie) of Glen Mills, PA and a daughter, Kelley Hudecheck (Tom Mendenhall) of Oxford, PA, grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Meghan, Matthew, Brittany, Tyler and Connor, great grandchildren, Alex and Grace.
