Obituary of Geraldine Crawford

Geraldine "Geri" Crawford, age 81 of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on August 1, 2021 at Crozer Hospice at Fair Acres. Born in Philadelphia, she resided for the past 58 years in Garnet Valley, previously residing in Doylestown and Secane, PA. Geri was a school bus driver for Garnet Valley School District for 45 years, retiring in 2014. She also worked as an E.R. technician at Riddle Memorial Hospital for over 30 years, and Booths Corner Farmer's Market in her younger years. She graduated from Upper Darby High School Class of 1958 and studied nursing at DCCC. She was a very active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Geri was a volunteer EMT at Concordville Fire Company and Bethel Hose #1, where she also served both as the Chaplin. Geri was a member of the Garnet Valley Red Hat Society and a Boy Scout leader for Troop 969. She was also actively a member of Delaware County Citizen Corps. She was an animal lover, especially horses, and loved riding her tractor. Geri was known for decorating the exterior of her home and school bus for all the holidays! In addition to her parents, Gordon J. and Helen Clark Sassaman, Geri is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Belden. She is survived by 2 sons, Larry Jay Crawford (Kate) and R. Jaime Crawford (Jane), sister, Donna Savini (Anthony Sr.), 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and great nephews, and many beloved friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 10:00AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 721 Paxon Hollow Road, Broomall, PA. Interment will be private.
