Obituary of Helen A. Raftovich

Helen A. "Schatzi" Raftovich, age 89 of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on September 17, 2021 at Riddle Village in Media, PA. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Helen resided in Upper Chichester Twp., PA for the past 15 years, previously residing in Aston, PA. She graduated from Marymount High School and went on to earn her Bachelors Degree from Fitzgerald-Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1952. She was an RN employed at Chester Crozer Medical Center and Sacred Heart Hospital, and worked for Dr. Peter Lebischak of Boothwyn Medical Associates for 27 years before retiring in 1995. Devoted to her faith, Helen was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aston, PA. In 1953, she married her sweetheart Anthony in St. Mary's Church in Wilkes Barre. In addition to her parents, Joseph and Josephine Kosloski Sielicki, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony B. Raftovich, and her two brothers, Anthony and Theodore Zak. She is survived by her two children, Joanne (Michael) Guglielmo and David (Nancy) Raftovich, four grandchildren, Ryan and Carly Raftovich and Melissa and Lauren Guglielmo, and two great-grandchildren, Juliana Raftovich and Lucas Mills. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3255 Concord Rd, Aston, PA 19014. Interment will remain private.
