Obituary of Raymond J. Walker

Ray Walker age 69 from Glen Mills, Delaware County, PA, passed peacefully December 1st at home surrounded by his family. Ray was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. Ray resided for the past 21 years in Glen Mills, PA. and previously resided in Secane, Pa. Ray attended St. Barnabas grade school and West Catholic Boys H.S. (class of 71) where he was an All Catholic punter.

      He was employed by Acme Markets and retired after 41 years of service in 2014. He was an avid sportsman and sports fan. From a young age, he loved to hunt and especially fish. Ray was also a die-hard Eagles and Flyers fan. He also loved the NASCAR races. He was an accomplished skier and a former ski instructor.  Over the years he loved the many ski trips with his son, brothers-in-law and nephews. Ray was known by many for his passion of Christmas and loved to play Santa Claus. Ray is preceded by his father, John Walker and his mother, Rita (Scannepieco) Walker.

      Ray is survived by his wife of 33 years, and the love of his life, Tina (Salvatore) Walker, and his son, Raymond V. Walker, who made him beam with pride, especially when watching him play football at Garnet Valley H.S. He is also survived by his 3 siblings, John Walker (Cathy), Bob Walker (Sue), and Kathy Agovino (Joe). 

     He will be terribly missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jake Scutzlas, Margie and Bill Devine, Vince Salvatore and his fiancée, Ellen Sherman. Ray was the beloved uncle to seventeen nieces and nephews as well as several grand nieces and nephews.  A visitation will be held on Monday, 12/6/21, from 7-9 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA. An additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, 12/7/21 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA from 9:30AM-1015AM followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment will remain private.
