Obituary of Sara Jean Montgomery

Jean Montgomery, 88 of Wilmington, DE died on September 23, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Chester, PA and raised in Ridley Twp., PA she resided for the past 56 years in Wilmington, DE. Jean worked in the accounting office at Brandywine Raceway for 8 years retiring in the mid 1990's. A member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, she was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. She also enjoyed reading and caring for her home. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, William and Rebecca Clayton Busby, husband, Vernon L. Montgomery who died in August 2008, son, Edward Montgomery who died in 1989 and her grandfather who raised her George Clayton. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, adopted grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Christopher Lawton, close cousin and caretakers, Vernon and Lewis Lawton and her aunt Elsie Lawton, who Jean was raised by. Funeral services and interment will remain private.
