Obituary of James Torrance Scott

James Torrance Scott, age 93 of Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA, passed away on March 28, 2022. Born to Alexander and Anne Torrance Scott in Weehawken, NJ, Jim was raised in Williston Park, NY and lived in Huntington, NY for 20 years, Wilmington, DE for over 30 years, and Glen Mills, PA for the last 7 years. He was a graduate of Brown University, where he was a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) as well as Beta Theta Pi fraternity. A US Navy veteran, Jim served his country during the Korean War. He worked at The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation for over 30 years, retiring as Vice President. Jim was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing courses near and far, from West Chester to Malibu and Martha's Vineyard to Scotland. A man of his faith, he served multiple terms as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Howard Scott, daughter, Linda of NY, son, William (Nani) of CA, brother, Gordon (Mary) of Idaho, three grandsons, Nick, Cameron, and Connor, and his many friends, all of whom will remember him for his gentle kindness.
