Obituary of Wayne M. Smith

Wayne M. Smith, age 68, of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born to Sylvester and Mary Carey Smith in Chester, PA, Wayne has resided in Newark, DE for 38 years and previously lived in Elkton, MD. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1972. Wayne worked as a medical technician for Dupont and Siemens for 43 years, retiring in 2015. Wayne enjoyed playing pool and golfing. He was an avid rock band fan and loved the Rolling Stones. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, SandraDee Smith, 5 children; Marie (Brian Burk) Smith, Leanne (Andrew) Erickson, Jessie Smith, Jamie Griffith, and Buddy (Michelle) Griffith, 2 sisters; Shirley (Pat) Ging and Diane (Joe) Conway, 8 grandchildren; Jada, Van, Nyah, Brinn, Angus, Dylan, Vera, and Andrew, and his loving and faithful dog, Daisy. A visitation will take place on Monday, April 4, from 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a funeral service at 11AM.
