Obituary of William Charles Cousins II
William C. Cousins, II, age 91, of Middletown, De passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Christiana Care - Newark. Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Sharon Hill, PA. He was the son of Anne Donahue and William Charles Cousins. He attended the Philadelphia College of Art and was a nationally renowned sculptor. He worked at the Franklin Mint for more than 20 years working his way up to become the Director of Sculptors. The next chapter of Bill's life saw him accepting a position at the U.S. National Mint in Philadelphia where Bill sculpted a wide range of medals and coins. His accomplishments included the Delaware and New Hampshire State Quarters, the Barry Goldwater Humanitarian Medal, and the General Schwarzkov Congressional Medal. Bill enjoyed his family summer home on the Elk River, near Elkton, MD and time spent gardening and tending to his yard. He was an avid reader and loved time spent with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Teresa Cousins. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Eleanor M. Cousins; three children, William C. (Joan) Cousins III, Lynda (Stephen) DiJulio, and John (Katie Flash) Cousins; six grandchildren, Alexander and Melissa DiJulio; Alexandra and Andrew Cousins, and Sarah and Benjamin Keeney. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10-11 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 11AM.
