Obituary of Sara Evene Burdan
Sara Evene Burdan, age 84 of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on April 14, 2022 at Wesley Enhanced Living in Media, PA. Born to Glenn and Sarah Kovatch Upton in Long Beach, CA, Sara was raised in the Manhattan district of New York City. She resided most of her adult years in Glen Mills and Garnet Valley, PA. Devoted to her faith, she was a member of Clifton United Methodist Church in Clifton Heights, PA. for over 40 years. In her free time, Sara loved cruising and world traveling, hosting poolside BBQ's, gardening, and "get togethers" with friends and family. In her later years she loved to bargain shop as well as keeping in touch with her friends via phone and social media. She especially loved her rescue dog, Sugar, her loyal companion for the last 9 years. Sara worked for over 34 years in the local retirement community field and was well known for her professionalism, passion and work ethic. For the last 25 years of her work career, she served as the Vice President of Operations and Marketing for Bellingham and then Wellington at Hershey's Mill, both senior living communities in West Chester, PA. In addition to her parents, Sara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Charlie "Chuck" C. Burdan, III, who passed away in 2016. She is survived by her children, Betsy (Robert) Nester, and Charlie "Chip" (Danielle) Burdan IV, her nieces, Jane (Bill) Hanlon and Laurie Mentz, Great Nieces and Nephews: Jennifer, Amanda, Eric and Matthew as well as her grandchildren, Corryne and Christian Burdan. Memorial services will remain private.
