Obituary of Dolores Florence Cassidy

Dolores Florence Cassidy, age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on May 21, 2022 at Season's Hospice in Wilmington surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born to Benjamin and Sophie Czernik Kulis in Chester, PA and she was a lifelong resident of Garnet Valley and member of St. John Fisher Church. Dolores' first job was working as a millworker at Scott's Paper Company in Chester, PA, before working at various places as a cook - and what a wonderful cook she was! Dolores later became a babysitter and caretaker, finally retiring at 83 years of age.

Dolores was an avid bowler in her youth, and played in a bowling league at Conchester Lanes. She enjoyed playing cards (especially 500 Rummy), going to casinos, and playing bingo. A lover of music, Dolores could always be found singing, whistling, and dancing. Dolores and her husband would often dance the jitterbug and polka at weddings and other fun events. Dolores loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren at their beach house in Rehoboth, DE.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Cassidy Sr., her beloved son, John Patrick Cassidy, who passed March 2, 2022, and her siblings Jenny, Benny, Ray, Nina, and Lenny. She is survived by her children; Diane Helen Cassidy, James Joseph (Shelli) Cassidy Jr., Rosanne Marie Cassidy, and Joanne (Jim) Eubanks; nine grandchildren; Jonathon, Cody, Meghan, James, Jimmy, Shane, Brittany, Dylan, and Chase, and two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Crystal.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26 from 10-11AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
