Obituary of Salvatore Scarpato

Salvatore Scarpato, age 75, of Deptford, NJ passed away on June 12, 2022 at home. Born and raised in S. Philadelphia, Sal resided for the past 17 years in Deptford, NJ, previously residing in S. Philadelphia. He was a Philadelphia Police Officer for 28 years retiring in 1996. After retirement, Sal worked as a security officer for the Department of Treasury for 14 years and retired in 2010. He graduated from Southern High School, Class of 1964, and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of FOP Lodge #5 N.E. Philadelphia and enjoyed getting together with friends from the FOP. They would laugh and reminisce about the good times. Sal enjoyed going to the casinos and he loved sports, especially the Phillies. Sal is preceded in death by wife, Rita Falotico Scarpato who passed in 2015, his parents and a brother. Sal will be remembered by his good friends, Jim Downey, Jim Newman, Manny Perez, Jim Coolen, Jessie Giordano and Kim and Ed Miller, along with many other frends. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 10:30AM at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Rd, Williamstown, NJ.
