Obituary of Eileen LaSota Filipek
Eileen LaSota Filipek, age 85 of Jermyn, PA passed away unexpectantly on June 18, 2022 at Christiana Hospital, Wilmington DE. Born, raised, and educated in Blakely, PA, Eileen resided for the past 62 years in Jermyn, PA. She was a proud Blakely Bear and graduated in the Class of 1954. Eileen received her degree in cosmetology and operated her own salon for many years. Later on she worked in financial sales for Dun & Bradstreet where she was the recipient of numerous top performance travel presidential awards and retired after 16 years of service. Eileen loved to cook for everyone, enjoy the holidays, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family as her heart was full of love and her arms, full of hugs. Eileen and her husband , Eddie, were married in St Mary's Church, Dickson City, PA, and spent several years of retirement enjoying travel and spending time with family in their townhouse in Bonita Springs, Florida. In her later years she formed a strong friendship with Jack Castellani and together they enjoyed each others company and shared many laughs and memories of their school years together. In addition to her parents, Joseph and Julia Kotwa-Midura LaSota, Eileen is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edward Filipek of Dickson City. She is survived by 4 children, Jody (Donna) Filipek, Gary (Lorraine) Filipek, Debbie Filipek, and Michelle (Steve) Filipek, brother, Ronald (Connie) LaSota and her nephew Ronald LaSota Jr, 10 grandchildren, James, Erin, Alexa, Erik, Bradley, Loren, Ashley, Brian, Christopher, and Hailey, and her 8 great-grandchildren Annelo, Bella, Ashton, Avery, Wyatt, Charlotte , Aiden and Evangeline. We will always remember mom, grandma, great grandma, wife, sister and daughter for providing her family and friends with great memories and a wonderful sense of humor. She always said she had a wonderful life and will miss her family. She left a legacy in each of her children and for her time on this earth, we are grateful and she will be forever missed. Eileen will always be remembered and missed by all. She was proud of her work and family and they will live in their hearts of those she touched. May she Rest In Peace.
