Obituary of Ralph J. Abate

Ralph J. Abate Jr., age 96, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on October 31, 2016. Born and raised in Phila., PA, he has resided in Boothwyn, PA for 9 years and previously 60 years in Darby, PA. Ralph was a proud veteran serving in the Army during WWII. Described as a "Jack of all Trades", Ralph thrived on helping anyone in need. He was a devout parishioner of BVM Catholic Church in Darby. He was an avid Philadelphia sports team fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Josephine (DelMarco) Abate, his wife, Mary (Andreacchio), and siblings; Al, John, and Catherine. He is survived by 2 daughters; Joanne (Herman) Tavani and Fran (Joe) Gaudio, and three grandchildren; Michael and Joey (Jessie) Gaudio, Regina (Joe) Tavani. His viewing will be held on Friday, 11:15-12:15PM at St. Thomas the Apostle, 430 Valleybrook Rd, Glen Mills, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30PM. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
