Obituary of Carole K. Long
Carole Kay (Mauger) Long, 80, a lifelong resident of Douglassville, PA, died in Glen Mills, PA, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Carole was born in Pottstown, PA on June 23, 1942 to the late Mary (Obermeyer) Mauger and Charles Irving Mauger. Raised in Douglassville, she graduated from Daniel Boone High School (1960) and worked at Birdsboro Steel before marrying Ronald B Long of Birdsboro, Pa. Carole and Ronald were married for 50 years, until his death in 2012. Upon the birth of their first son, Carole chose to be a stay-at-home mother for many years until later in life when she worked first for SoFro Fabrics and then Joann Fabrics. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro, PA. During her lifetime Carole was an enthusiastic collector of antiques, bird watcher, and gardener. Carole also loved to sew and enjoyed her family and friends.
Carole is survived by her sons, Eric C Long (and spouse, Sue Allen-Long), residing in Indianapolis, IN, and David P Long (and spouse, Lin Zhang), residing in Glen Mills, PA. In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, Dylan Long, of Chicago, IL, and Tyler and Ava Long of Glen Mills, PA.
