My condolences to the family of John Ambrogi. May the God of comfort grant the family peace at this sad time. In the Bible God gives us hope in that at Revelation 21:3,4 He tells us that He God will do away with death, mourning, outcry and pain. What a wonderful promise that one day soon we will see our dead loved ones again.

Thanks for all the great meals that we sat together with. You made me feel at home when I was coaching there at Archmere. My greatest memory was when I put that first giant A on the field and we just sat there and stared at it and knew the kids would love it. As you always say, Take care PAL Coach J

To the entire Ambrogi Family,
I was very saddened to learn of Jerry's passing. I have known Jerry for many years through dealing with J. Ambrogi Food Distributors for my job at Aramark. Jerry as a coach, certainly knew the value of teamwork and our two company's partnership over the years was no exception as we both enjoyed mutual "good" business. Our dealings were always fair and balanced and treated as a "team effort" which I'm sure he would be pleased to hear.
On a personal level, Jerry was so proud of all his student/athletes and when we talked he never failed to mention this fact. And I can personally speak for his generosity as when he heard of my own daughters diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes, he was there to support our efforts to find a cure.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family. He will be sorely missed.
May the Good Lord comfort you and Hold you during this time as I know HE is holding Jerry now.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my former Archmere colleague. It was a privilege to have known him as friend, parent of students I taught and athletes I coached. I am no longer in the area and will be unable to attend the services but wanted to send a note along.
My fondest memories of Coach Ambrogi were not in the locker room or on the field but in the auditorium and in the stands. His passion for the school was most evident there.
Freshmen open house talking of the coming season and his expectations of the incoming classes and how every freshmen mother was the "most beautiful woman he had ever seen".
"Fellas" was a word whenever I heard it - I simply thought of him.
At graduation where, if our row of faculty were lucky enough to be seated in front of him, would have a rolling commentary during graduation. His light and happy comments kept me, at least, smiling.
His humbleness on stage when receiving alumnus of the year and the words of true and honest passion for the school that he loved.
Coach Ambrogi was supportive of all sports. Not many came to XC races. He did and I know he spread the word. He made it cool to go and watch.
My favorite memory of him at a lacrosse game was against Red Lion where he spent half of the time arguing calls with the refs and the other half watching a "spring practice" for their football team.
Archmere is closed for his services and rightfully so. In my time there it closed very rarely for a funeral. I am glad it is doing so for him.
Please know that you Mrs. Ambrogi, Jess, Christopher and Michael are all in my prayers.

There are many fine hard working men and women in our country and this world. Every now and then one single person rises to the top of that list. And has such impact, that lives are changed in ways, one could only dream. Jerry Ambrogi was on the very top of that list. A very humble and generous man. Who gave his heart and soul to every thing he did. We are honored to have been a part of that journey. Losing the opportunity to be with him, hurts all of us more than anyone could imagine. But the Coach in him is demanding we rally together, hold each other up. Take everything he taught us, and use it to the best of our ability. Continue to make him proud of us. Always taking time to reach out and thank the person next to you for what they did that day to honor him. Our Love and condolences to Jerry's immediate family. In many ways, we are all part of his family.

Kirsty and family we are all saddened by Jerry's passing. Tributes poor in and they are well deserved. I first met Jerry as a rookie football official. I remember the first Archermere Game I was assigned too. I was nervous of course. Traditionally officials introduce themselves to the head coaches when we come out to the field. Jerry saw me and came directly over and introduced himself to me. From then on every-time he saw me he would he would track me down and shake my hand no matter where I saw him. Even when I made a call he wasn't particularly fond of he would never raise his voice or try in anyway to embarrass or demean. Delaware Football is a better sport because Jerry was involved. He will be missed by all.
