Obituary of Frances S. Ebsworth

Frances "Chub" S. Ebsworth, age 89 of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Chub resided for the past 16 years in the Maris Grove community, previously residing in Morton, PA for 49 years. She graduated from Ridley Twp. High School, Class of 1951. A secretary for 20 years, Chub worked for the S.E. Delco School District, afterwards working for Westinghouse before retiring in 1988. Chub was a member of Elam United Methodist Church. She loved summers in Wildwood Crest, NJ and looked forward to when Christine would visit Mom-mom and Pop-pop "down the shore". Chub was an avid walker and was often seen taking her daily 5-mile walk around the Maris Grove neighborhood.  After her walks she would relax at home with a hot cup of tea and her favorite cookies.  In addition to her parents, Frank E. and Helen Dudley Smith, Chub is preceded in death by her husband,  Harold "Eb" C. Ebsworth who passed in 2017, son, Gary C. Ebsworth, who passed in 1986, three siblings; Jack Smith, Nancy Ellixson, and Tom Smith, She is survived by her daughter, Patty (Brian) Davies, sisters in law; Annie Smith and Patricia Smith, brother in law and sister in law, Al and Janice Fagerland, granddaughter, Christine Davies and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 10-11AM at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA, followed by funeral services at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.
