Obituary of James J. Kounnas

James "Jimmy" J. Kounnas, age 89 of Boothwyn, PA passed away on September 25, 2022 at his daughter's home in Clifton Heights, PA. Born in Chester, PA and raised in Crum Lynne, PA, Jimmy resided over 40 years in Boothwyn. Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a pipefitter for Sun Oil Company for 37 years until he retired in 1997. Devoted to his faith. he was an active member of Marcus Hook Baptist Church where he was involved in all aspects of the church. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to Wildwood Beach, and visiting the Booths Corner Farmer's Market. Most of all, Jimmy loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Celeste Thornton Kounnas who passed in 2012, and 4 siblings. Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Joanne Arnold, brothers; Joseph and Phillip Kounnas, 2 granddaughters, Kelly and Christina, 2 great grandchildren, Kylie and Jalen, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 30 from 2:00-3:00PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 3:00PM.
