Obituary of Jean B. James

Jean Rothermel Biddle James, age 96, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Rose Court, Maris Grove Senior Living Community, Glen Mills, PA. Born in Wilmington, DE to Carroll and Mabel Rothermel Biddle, she previously lived in Fenwick Island, DE and Glen Mills, PA.  Jean graduated from Claymont High School and was a member of the Women's Club of Fenwick Island. Jean was a seven time Fenwick Island shuffle board champion and an avid canasta player. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Warren James who died in 2019, two sisters, Doris Ross and Beverly Johnson. Jean is survived by her two sons, Richard (Beth) James and Gary (Ann) James, three grandchildren, Kristin (Eric) Shea, Abby Tolkan, and Andrew James, a great-granddaughter, Norah Shea, two sisters-in-law, Nancy Harris and Romaine James, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 10-11AM at Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Rd, Glen Mills, PA followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Interment will be private.
