Obituary of Georgia L. Zinck

Georgia L. Zinck, age 96, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 19, 2023 at Rose Court Nursing Home at Maris Grove Senior Living. Born in Atlanta, GA, daughter of Charles F. and Emma Grace Burrows Johns, she has resided at Maris Grove since 2009; previously residing in Ridley Twp, PA. Georgia was a sweet beauty from the southern state of Georgia, a real Georgia Peach. Her beauty was enough to earn her a brief modeling career and win the heart of her husband, Fred, whose pet name for her, "Sugar" embodied her sweetness. She grew up in Atlanta and attended the University of Georgia. She also lived in Wisconsin and Colorado and pursued a career in Chicago working for Joseph Kennedy in the Merchandise Mart. Georgia enjoyed coffee klatches with her friends from the neighborhood and some of her fondest memories were made in Avalon, NJ, playing bridge at the Yacht Club and fishing with her family on the boat of her namesake, the Boss Lady. Georgia was a savvy investor, amateur artist, shrewd business woman and tireless mom. As the matriarch, she guided her family through good times and bad with effortless grace. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick A. Zinck, Jr. who passed away in 1996; and her sister, Phyllis Buchy. Georgia is survived by her three sons, Gerald (Barbara) Zinck, Frederick L. (Amelia) Zinck and Richard (Patricia) Zinck; three grandchildren, Derek (Lindsay) Zinck, Jennifer (Kanishka) Wijetunga & Christian Zinck and three great grandchildren, Rally, Audrey and Dylan. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 10AM to 11AM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA followed by a memorial service at 11AM.
