My fondest memories of Betty are the times we spent at her kitchen table. Upon return from church each Sunday, we would enjoy a delicious meal together that she had thoughtfully prepared and wanted to share with me. During this time we would share prayer requests, discuss the sermon, and elaborate on how our Father God had blessed us in His personal way during the week. Those were special times and I will treasure them in my heart til we meet again in our heavenly home. In God's Love, Donna Clifford

Our condolences on the passing of Betty. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Betty was a great neighbor and cook. She was one of the first neighbors we met when we moved into our house. Betty came to our door to welcome us with one of her delicious baked goods. We enjoyed her company whether for a brief visit or for our family gatherings. She was so generous to share her baked goods (banana bread) and her Sunday pasta dishes (spaghetti and clams). We miss Betty but she is now reunited with Al.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of Aunt Betty. I have the fondest memories of her while growing up. She was kind and always smiling. Her famous pumpkin bread lives on as she gave me her recipe over 20 years ago and is a family favorite. May Betty rest in eternal peace and be reunited with Uncle Al.
Love,
Judy

I have my first memory of Aunt Betty when I was just 3 years old. I remember driving with her in the front seat of what was probably a big Buick and feeling like the hilly highway through Springfield was a giant mountain. She took me to the Bazaar to get my picture taken. And she bought me a little stuffed dog. She told me I was a really good girl.
I remember her room with big bed posts. It smelled like Chanel No. 5 and she showed me all of her clip on earrings. Puffer barked a lot so she would take me with her down to the basement to visit the cat when she did the laundry. She made the best dinners with julienne carrots in butter and dill and slow roasted beef that you could pull apart with a fork. I loved opening the refrigerator to see if she made chocolate mousse parfaits for dessert, and she always did because she knew they were my favorite. When we went to the dinner table, we would find the little presents she left for us on our chairs. When dinner was over, we would eat After 8 chocolate mints. I wanted to help out so she set up a stool for me in front of the sink and I would wash all of her pots. I would always ask for 2 chewable vitamin C tablets and I would savor them and wash away. She never worried about soapy water getting anywhere. She thanked me and told me I was helpful.
When I got older, we would go to cute luncheonettes around town and shopping at either Strawbridges or in little boutiques. She spoke to me like an adult and shared meaningful stories about her life.
When she was no longer mobile, we continued our lunches and our talks. She revealed how God was present in her life. The most important thing she taught me was that people need people.
In any moment, she still thought like she was 39!
As she lived to be 90, I had the most time with her out of any of my grandparents. She was very special to me and I'm very grateful she was a part of my life.

Our condolences to the family of Betty. We were blessed to have time with her at our Bible Studies at The Blue Church, and often celebrated the end of each class with a Brunch. Betty was always a blessing with her culinary expertise, and her contributions to our discussions. She will always be remembered with great admiration.

Very sorry to hear of Betty's passing. I met Betty after working with her husband Al at the Springfield Police Department in 1983. She and Al welcomed me to their home for dinner every Friday for almost 20 years. Betty was an excellent cook and was fun to be with and talk about the old days growing up. We had discussions about Tastycake where Al and Betty worked and later married. After Al died I later visited Betty at her assisted living home in West Chestr. She was a beautiful and loving person and I am a better person for having known her. I will always remember her and Al in my prayers for their heavenly reward.
