Marguerite, Brian, Michael, and Eric,
Wishing you much love and peace now and always.
Michele and I are completely heartbroken.
I was fortunate to have Peanut as my brother, from the time growing up with 3 of us in one bedroom until this very day. Just to show how caring he was; when we were young we had bunk beds and I rolled out of the top bunk and landed on his desk where he had all his model airplanes, cars, and trucks needless to say I broke all of them. He jumped out of bed looked at his crushed models I could tell he was mad but he said “are you okay” and helped me back up to the top bunk. As kids we also played little league baseball with trainer VFW together and later on Marcus Hook adult league. But the most fun of all was going to the horse track every Friday night from Garden State Park, Brandywine, Dover Downs, and Harrington we used to have great times.
I am proud to say Joseph “Peanut” Smith was my brother and friend, we will all miss you.
Michele will miss how welcoming Peanut always was and remembers how he was the life of a party with that laugh and his stories; he never made anyone feel like they didn’t belong. It’s like he never met a stranger. Rest easy kind soul.

I offer my sincere condolences to the entire Smith family. Peanut was a great person to be around and we had many good times playing sports together in Trainer. I knew his brothers Chuck & Tommy very well along with his mother and father Rose & Lefty all great people. I haven't seen peanut in years but I have great memories of him that will last forever. Again so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace my good friend and God bless you.
