Obituary of Joy Peters
Joy Peters, age 80, of Claymont, De passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023 at her home. Born in Woodbury, NJ and raised in Colonial Manor, NJ, graduated Paulsboro High class of 1960; a daughter of William Rigler and Felice Ubill Imfeld and step father John Imfeld, she resided in Claymont for over 54 years. She and her late husband owned and operated a typography business, The Composing Room for many years where she was the receptionist and bookkeeper. Joy was a former member of the Christian Science church in both Woodbury NJ and Wilmington, DE. She was a former Den Mother, Pack 62 Leader and Assistant Troop Leader of the Boy Scouts Troop 62 in Claymont. Earlier in life, Joy was an active bowler and participated in several leagues. She enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting, and gardening. Everyone who knew Joy knows that she had a special place in her heart for cats and of course she was never without a Pepsi in hand. In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Daniel Peters, who passed away in 1997; two brothers, William Rigler and Bruce Imfeld and her sister, Joan Rigler. Joy is survived by her four sons, H. Daniel (John Coniglio) Peters, Jr., Paul (Melissa) Peters, Marc (Lynn) Peters, and Bronson (Erin) Peters; her six grandchildren, Christopher Peters, John Peters, Megan Peters, Jeffrey Peters, Corey (Rhia) Joyce, and Caitlin(Timothy) Burkhart; her two great grandchildren, Lillian and Rowan; and her dear lifelong friends, Vonnie Anderson and her daughter Cheryl. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2:30 pm in the Chester Bethel Cemetery, 2619 Foulk Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810.
