Obituary of Timothy Joseph Slachta

Timothy Joseph Slachta, age 48 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2023. Born to Francis "Cookie" and Kathleen (Mallon) Slachta in Darby, PA. Tim grew up in Aston, PA and then moved to West Chester, PA were he graduated from Unionville High School, Class of 1993. He attended Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island from 1993-1995 and decided to return home to work in the family business. He started working in the kitchen of Duffer's Pub for several years and then moved to the front of the house manager and was made the GM of Duffer's Pub in 2000. Tim also had ownership in Duffer's Tavern in Glen Mills and Duffer's Mill in Chichester along with other Slachta family members. For the past 15 years he has resided in Garnet Valley.

Tim was an adventure seeker. He loved to skydive, skateboard, and snowboard. Tim had a passion for music and loved attending concerts. He liked to travel to the mountains and to the shore. He passed his love of adventure onto his sons, TJ and Kevin. He was a well known prankster who loved Halloween and making Halloween costumes. Most of all, Tim liked helping and serving people, whether it was at his restaurant, or coaching his son's sports teams.

Tim is survived by his wife, Susan (Lukens) Slachta, twin sons, Kevin and T.J. Slachta, 4 siblings, Francis (Cynthia) Slachta, Kathleen (David) Harris, Michael (Cynthia) Slachta, and Sarah (Michael) Rainey, plus many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by many numerous friends.

A visitation for Tim will be held on Monday, May 22 from 6-8PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Chadds Ford, PA, on Tuesday, May 23, at 11:00 AM. There will be a celebration of life to follow at Duffer's Mill, 1600 Naamans Creek Rd.
