Obituary of John J. Madden

John J. Madden Jr., of Garnet Valley, PA passed away peacefully at Arden Courts in Wilmington, DE from complications related to Alzheimer's on November 30, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born in Newark, NJ and attended Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone. He was the first in his family to graduate from college and served his country in the U.S. Army. While working full-time and supporting his new family, John attended Fordham Law School at night. He was a gifted litigator with Shearman & Sterling in New York City for nearly 30 years. John was a steadfast and loyal husband, father and friend; he had an abundance of honor, character, integrity, and strength to go with his characteristic Irish wit and charm. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann, and his children, Giselle, Sean, Paul, and Kevin, as well as three grandchildren. Funeral services & interment will remain private. The family wishes to thank the staff at Arden Court and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
