Obituary of Susan M. Boates

Susan M. Boates, age 67 of Trainer, PA passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 27, 2023 surrounded by her children at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. Born to Alexander and Mildred Schreffler O'Kon in Chester, PA, Susan was a longtime resident of Trainer, PA. She worked as an aide for Chichester School District until retiring. Susan was very active in the Trainer community, whether working the polls, volunteering, or spending time at the community center. Susan also enjoyed going on cruises, visiting Delaware beaches, and vacationing with her sister, Bonnie. She also was an avid Philly Sports Fan, especially the Eagles and Phillies. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Ricky L. Boates, who passed in 2007, and her sister Cheryl Billbrough. She is survived by 3 children; Ricky L. Boates Jr. (Kelly), Alan J. Boates (Nicole), and Katelyn M. Boates (Michael), sister, Bonnie Bloomer, 6 grandchildren; Alyssa, Jacob, Mikaila, Ashlynn, Michael Jr., and Lilliana, and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing for Susan will be held on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 from 6-7:30PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley PA followed by a Funeral Service at 7:30PM.
