Obituary of John Richard Lownds

John Richard "Dick" Lownds, age 89, of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Springfield Rehab and Healthcare Center. He was born to John S. and Marjorie E. (Woolley) Lownds in Bridgeport, CT and raised in Danbury, CT. He previously resided in East Granby, CT and Los Angeles, CA before moving to Garnet Valley in 2004. Dick attended Wooster School and went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Experimental Psychology from Brown University. He served his country as a pilot in the Air Force and worked for Connecticut General, Hay Associates, and Kaiser Permanente Medical Group before retiring in 1998. Dick loved singing throughout his life. He was active in the Barbershop Quartet Society, Songmakers in California, and other music organizations. Dick loved to travel, as he
would extensively for the love of music. In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his son, Gary Lownds. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Lownds, his former wife Barbara V. Schiller, son Brian (Carrie) Lownds, two brothers; David and Jeff Lownds, five step children; Regina (John) Ticco, Robert (Patricia) Ferrante, Patricia (Dan) O'Donnell, Mary Weaver, John (Kristen) Ferrante, and ten step grandchildren.
