Obituary of William R. Maxwell

William R. "Max" Maxwell, age 81, of Wilmington, DE passed away on July 2, 2023 at Christiana Hospital. Born to William and Rebecca Graham Maxwell in Wilmington, DE, he was a lifetime resident of Wilmington, DE. Max was a mechanic for over 50 years during which he worked for Firestone, Goodyear, Midas, and Lea Boulevard Automotive.  He loved to fix cars and anything that he could. Max would say "If I can't fix it, it's broken".  An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he enjoyed coaching different sports, crabbing, playing pool, and playing card games, especially pinochle.  Most of all, Max loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play sports. In addition to his parents, Max is preceded in death by his siblings; Robert Maxwell, Peggy O'Neil, and Ronald Maxwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helena Truszkowski Maxwell, sons; Kevin (Tiia) Maxwell, and Jason (Jennifer) Maxwell, grandchildren; Taylor, Austin, Courtney, Caleb, and Dallas. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00AM.
