Obituary of Frederick Jones

Frederick Jones, age 80, of Glen Mills passed away on July 9th, 2023, at home. Fred grew up in Media with his loving foster parents, Joe and Elizabeth Getz. He graduated from Penncrest High School in 1964. Married in 1966 to Georgianna Lynn Landis and moved to the Glen Mills area in 1968 where they have resided together for the past 57 years.

Fred became a master welder and worked for Allied Chemical for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of South Media Fire Co. While raising his family he was very active in the Boy Scouts, and he was heavily involved in sports and the Brandywine Youth Club where he coached baseball, ice hockey, and girls' softball. He was an avid bowler, as well as a Nascar fan. He loved and supported all his Philly teams. He enjoyed his vacation once a year to Disney World with his children and grandchildren.

His favorite pastime besides watching ME tv was watching planes. You could always see Fred looking up.

Fred is survived by his wife of 57 years. Georgianna Lynn Jones (Landis), his son Frederick Joseph Jones (Aigina Gabrela) and daughter Karen Lynn Jones-Sullivan(Matthew Sullivan) and three grandchildren Matthew Jake Sullivan, Luke Sullivan, and Brooke Sullivan. Private graveside services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA.
