Obituary of Michael Warran James

Michael "Mike" Warran James, age 62, of Wilmington, DE passed away on August 17, 2023, at AccentCare in Wilmington Hospital. He was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Maryland by his parents, Thomas, and Beverlee Smythe James. Mike graduated from Hampshire High School in 1979. He resided in Wilmington for 5 years, previously residing in West Chester, PA for 10 years. Mike worked in construction for over 40 years. He was a senior project manager for Erickson Construction for 10 years, and a principal at 6061 Design Build before retiring. Mike was a "glorified" carpenter. He loved working with his hands, whether it was building, helping his kids with an art or science project, or his love of abstract painting. Mike enjoyed sports and music. He was an avid golfer, loved to play basketball and guitar. Mike had a great sense of humor, and will always be remembered for being honest, hardworking, patient and kind. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Thomas and Ronald James and survived by his wife, Cindy Berman, 3 children, Kristen, Tara, and Michael James, 4 grandchildren, Riley, Audrina, Jesse, and Oliver, 2 brothers, Bryan, and Leroy James, and 2 cats, Izzy, and Sylvester.
