We are very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. Our condolences go out to his loving family. We got to know Steve at Pescatores at several shows, and we loved his performance at our community. He was truly gifted, and he shared his warmth and talent with so many. We have our memories, but he will surely be missed.

My heart goes out to all of the friends and family members feeling the loss of Steve, and my deepest sympathies and Prayers are with you. What a difficult time. My Dad, Jimmy Silicato, was “Sil’s” cousin and essentially a brother to each other growing up. So of course, I grew up hearing all the wonderful stories and precise impersonations those two shared with each other. When I had the chance to be in Steve’s presence from time to time, his character was simply bigger than life itself and he could light up a room in an instant. I also valued and appreciated the fact that he was a lefty like me. I’m sharing a somewhat recent photo from my mom-mom’s surprise 90th Birthday party we held a just couple years ago. It took place when folks weren’t gathering quite yet, so we had to keep it small, but Steve agreed to show up bringing a microphone, his beautiful voice and a pretty good appetite too from what I remember. It made my mom-mom’s day so very special—it was incredible. He was incredible. With love, Justin Silicato.

I have so many great memories of Steve (Sil) as a baseball teammate, roommate at the baseball house (222 Price st.) and as a friend. Steve always lived to entertain and he would drag me up to sing with him. Our favorite songs to sing were What’s Your Name and If I Fell in Live with You (The Beatles). We would sing on the bus after ball games, at parties and even a couple of friends weddings. I loved watching him perform at clubs and restaurants as he realized his dream to entertain.
I was so sad to hear the news of his passing. Sil will be dearly missed, but memories of him will live on in all of the lives that he touched!
My deepest condolences to the Silicato family!

Silicato Family, My prayers go out to you on the sudden passing of Steve. Sil and I attended West Chester State College together and also worked at Glen Mills Schools with many other West Chester guys. I would always tease Sil because he would grab any player during a WCSC football game to in Sils terms warm up. when he had his black hair combed, eye black, white socks pulled up and the towel hanging. That was Sil and that personality carried over when I saw perform. He always had a way of putting a smile on your face and forgetting your troubles. When my roommate who, was one of Sils wide receivers, told me about Sil singing a few years back, I looked to see where he was performing. I saw he sang at Fainting Goat which is right down McDade Boulevard from where I live . When I walked in and he saw me, he greeted me with a Yo Coop.. When he started singing, it was like West Chester and the rat all over again, He asked me for a request then said to crowd this one goes out to my buddy Coop The song Frank Sinatras My Way.. One of my favorites. Sil got me on his list and I saw him at The Goat, Ashleys and so glad I saw his Frank and Dino Show and just in May Night at Latin. What made those shows special is that he sat me with his family and it was much fun seeing the way he interacted with them during the show and how proud they were of him. . He also worked the crowd so well. it was Sil being Sil like no other could. So glad I reconnected with him the past few years and got the chane to hear sing the music I love.. RIP Steve Coop

Seems like only yesterday when Bill and I and your friends and family were at Piedmont Lodge witnessing the beginnings of your wonderful singing career, Steve. Bill videoed for you there and I think at weddings on occasion. Your gift wasn't just your singing. Your style (smooth and sweet) was unique and will never be copied (except perhaps, by your awesome son) Your love of people and your faith in God was felt by everyone who knew you. The last song I heard you sing was "I Believe". A favorite of mine since I was a little girl. Now you sing with the angels, and know for sure why you believed.

We are so very sorry to hear of Steve's recent passing, our hearts ache for your family. It was such a pleasure to be with this upbeat guy always. In trying to remember when we first saw him, I think it was at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Exton. We also saw him at the VFW and Commodore clubs in Sea Isle City. We had him perform a special show here at our community's retirement place in Hershey's Mill in October 2015. Our friends from Hershey's Mill went to see him perform at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern before they changed hands and then many times at Ashley's. Such a naturally talented, gifted performer.
There will always be a place in your hearts reserved just for Steve. God Bless you now and over the months ahead. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Patty, Alexa, Steven, Frankie, Mrs. Silicato and family, What can we say?! Sil was taken from all of us too soon! Dan and I will treasure the many memories of Sil, in the early years of West Chester, through the years raising our families, to the glory days in Sea Isle, to his memorable performances singing and just plain goofing around! We are still too stunned to truly express what our friendship meant. Sil had a larger than life personality who projected an old soul. We will miss showing up at Pescatores or Ashley’s or wherever to see him sing, and we will cherish the times of sheer fun and laughter we had when he was with us. It’s those memories that we hope will sustain your family in your grief. We love all of you and hope you know that we are here if you ever need us. We believe Sil has been reunited with his Dad, Duke, the Temptations, and the Rat Pack…and let’s not forget Schaf! Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers! Love, Dan & Terri Heavens & Family

A wonderful teammate and friend. Funny and full of life. Our bus rides home (after a win) were great and always included Sil singing the greatest hits of the Temptations!
Hanging out off the field always included Sil's hilarious impersonations of our legendary coach Dr. Neil Serpico and his assistant Dr. John Lemcke.
Thanks for the memories 'Silky'. Love Walk

How do you express the sadness you feel from losing such a special man? Here one minute in all his glory...gone the next... Although I have only known Steve a few years, I feel as though I have known him my entire life. He was one of the most warm and loving men I have ever had the pleasure to know. I can't even find the words fitting enough to pay tribute to such an incredible person. He touched so many of us who came to know him, with his beautiful voice, and shining personality. My heart aches knowing we will never see him in our presence again. I suspect God felt he needed him more, than we, the living. To The entire Silicato Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. I hope one day, in time, you will find that the joy and memories of being a part of Steves life, will see you through to a peaceful existence. As difficult as it will be,I hope you find solace knowing how many people were blessed, just by knowing him, and how very loved he was.

So very sad when I heard about Steve. He was such a great guy and is going to be dearly missed by so many. My family has used him for a handful of parties and he was the hit of the party, everyone loved him. We would force him to take a break, to eat of course with our family, and he fit right in. Loved going to hear him at the festival and would always run into him every year at a football game at Abbessino Stadium. Heaven gained an incredible angel, you will be missed Steve. Keeping your family in my prayers!
