We had the pleasure of working with Nancy at Chichester Middle School. She was a wonderful colleague and friend to all. We fondly remember that beautiful smile that she always had on her face. We are truly sorry to hear of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this most difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,
Scott and Jill Carter

Dear Mccoy Family,
My husband John and I knew Nancy( and Blair) through golfing at the Kennett Country Club. Such fond / fun memories we had together.
Nancy's smile and positive attitude about life was so joyful. A very special lady that will be sorely missed.
Sending my most sincere sympathy and loving thoughts.

To Wendy Burnham and sisters
I was very fond of your mother! I first met her a long time ago, when Wendy was in eighth grade. I was taking my classes to Williamsburg on a three day field trip. If I remember it correctly, Nancy was not happy with Wendy’s grade in history and she had told Wendy that she had to improve her history grade or she could not go on the trip. The required improvement of the grade had not been made, so Wendy was not allowed to go with the class. When I learned the reason for Wendy’s failure to give me a permission slip, I called Nancy and successfully talked her into allowing Wendy to go on the trip.
After I retired from teaching full time in 1989, I spent the next few years doing a lot of substituting. Whenever Nancy was absent, I filled in for her. In about 2003 Nancy joined PEO, and became my sister.
I shall really miss her for her great cheerful personality and wonderful smile. She was really an “UP” person!
I know that you and your sisters will miss your mother dreadfully! I still miss my mother and she died in 1963, when I was only 39 years old. One of the wishes among most mothers is that their children remain good friends with each other. It is the best way to remember her.
Affectionately, Dorothy Jeanne Dangerfield

Darlene, Wendy, Jennifer and your families: Wig and I are so very sorry for the loss of your mom. She was one very special person, who always wanted to please you. She loved teaching and had a passion for science. Wig and I regret that we haven't spent time with your parents for several years. We do however, have so many fond memories of times spent at their Pocono home, with you girls, skiing, playing games and tons of fun and laughs. Ski vacations in Canada and Vermont and day/night skiing at Doe Mountain. We were always included in special family gatherings, birthdays, graduations, showers, weddings and anniversaries, etc.
They lived their life around their family. Always eager to share stories of you guys or your children. They were such proud parents and grandparents. Wig and I were blessed to call your parents our friends. The love your parents shared was contagious and anyone who had the privilege of knowing them felt that love just the same. I know your mom is wrapped in your dad's arms, both looking down smiling at their family. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all, Wig and Dawn xoxo

I feel so fortunate to have taught with Nancy at Chichester. We were members of the Green Team and later became sixth grade team leaders. Nancy was dedicated, compassionate, and adored her three daughters. We had so many good times together and she will be missed.
