Obituary of Charles A. Cooke

Charles A. "Gus" Cooke, age 69, passed away at home in Wilmington DE on the morning of January 8, 2024. He was born and raised in Linwood, PA by his parents, Robert and Ethel (Eyre) Cooke. Gus resided in Wilmington for the past 15 years, previously residing in Broomall, PA. He was a graduate of Chichester High School class of 1972. Gus dedicated 26 years of his life as a hardworking ramp technician at the Philadelphia International airport UPS hub before retiring in 2018. He was a great lover of all sorts of music, and was very fond of nature and the great outdoors. Gus loved spending his time fishing, camping, and kayaking. He also had a passion for woodworking, and enjoyed his yearly vacations to Ocean City NJ. In addition to his parents, Gus is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cooke. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michele (Marra) Cooke, 6 children; Diane (Shanna) Cooke, David Cooke, Donna (Jesse) Regan, Denise (Kyle) Ratcliff, Dan (Kayla) Cooke, and Michael Manfredo, 2 brothers; William (Lisa) Cooke and George (Colleen) Cooke, and 10 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17 from 10-11AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley PA, followed by a memorial service at 11AM.
