I met Carol, Jack and one of their sons (Dan?) for the first time 10 years ago. I was visiting the area for a high school class reunion, I stopped to briefly show a friend the Concordville Scott Road House I has grew up in 50s and early 60s. Jack spotted us on the road and with a friendly hello I told him who I was and, to my surprise, I discover Jack knew about me. Jack had worked with my father for many years with helicopters. My father started with Piasecki right after WWII.
Jack and Carol then spent a number of hours talking with us about all kinds of things I had in common with them such as the house, it reputation of being haunted, my father, the neighborhood. They had invited me back anytime. And with another class reunion this May I intended to meet up with them again for another wonderful life moment.
After no contact with phone or email I learned the sad news from the folks at Newlin Mills Park. I had no idea of Carol and Jack's advanced age. Even though my personnel existence with them was just a few hours, I feel a notable loss here for such good people who had a lot to share with me. I attach a photo from that memorable few hours of experience.
Peace be with them and their family.

Nick Pontillo posted a condolence
Thursday, March 28, 2024
On behalf of the entire Pontillo family, I want to express my sincere condolences to the Hanlon family. Jack and Carolyn were my Godparents and although I hadn't seen them in quite a few years, I have very fond memories of the time I spent with them when I was younger. May our almighty Father welcome him home with open arms. He will truly be missed.

Jeannine and I wish to express our condolences to the Hanlon family. I first met Jack some 30+ years ago when he would come into Boeing for business meetings. Each visit started with a firm handshake and a warm greeting followed by questions about our families before the topic turned to business. It always amazed me how he could remember all our wives and children’s names. Over the years Jack and I became friends and when Jeannine first met him they immediately formed a bond steeped in deep discussions and debates on topics like religion and politics. Jeannine would often comment that Jack was one of the most interesting and funny people she’s ever met and always looked forward to seeing him. From Halloween parties, fishing trips on young Jack’s boat, or dinner out with Jack and Carolyn we always enjoyed his company immensely. The world will surely miss this consummate gentleman and exceptional human being. Rest in peace Jack.

I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Hanlon family and to share some insight into the caliber of man Jack was. Aviation and aircraft was certainly a focus of Jack's and that is how I met him. I work with Bob Bornhofen on the Sport Jet aircraft which Jack was quite passionate about. Although I have been a C level executive for years I was a "newbie" in aviation. Jack not knowing me from Adam, took me under his wing and has been a mentor and friend answering all my rookie questions and provided me with a masterclass in aeronautics as well as jokes for several years. Although the last few years have been physically challenging for Jack his demeanor, optimistic outlook and humor never waivered. It has been an honor and privilege to have had all those hours of "chats" with Jack, an incredible person and a true gentleman. You will be missed.

Thank you for your condolences. Our father's aunt, Mary Hanlon, was Sister Thomas Aquinas, IHM. She was on the founding faculty of Immaculata, started the college library, and was librarian for about 30 years. She was our grandfather's oldest sibling, 1 of 14, 9 of whom survived infancy. Our grandfather was #13.
Sister Charles Mary IHM was our father's first cousin. We have fond memories of visiting them both at Camilla Hall.
Thank you again from The Hanlon Family
