Obituary of Charles J. Chandler
Charles J. Chandler Sr, age 85 of North Wilmington, DE died on December 30, 2016. Born to the late Raymond & Ida Chandler in Upper Chichester, he was a resident of Wilmington for the past 50 years. A veteran, Charles served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Salem Iron & Metals Co. where he was a Mechanic & Truck Driver. In his early years, he was employed by Ford Motor Company in Chester, PA. Charles belonged to the American Legion, Post 18 in Claymont. He had a love of Mustangs and enjoyed restoring them. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carey Chandler who died in 1998, a granddaughter, Jennifer Farraday & 9 siblings. Charles is survived by 6 children, Linda (David) Farraday, Charles (Erin) Chandler, Dennis (Betty Lou) Chandler, Cindy Chandler, Brian Chandler & Sharon (John) Sanders, 2 sisters, Julia Ottinger & Marie Dowd, 15 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA.
