Obituary of James Pullin
James W. Pullin "Wiggy", 76, of Upper Chichester Township, PA passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to the late Warren Pullin and Mary Lee Pullin, he lived his entire life in Upper Chichester Township. He graduated from Chichester High School, Class of 1966, and the Delaware County Police Academy.
He worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Lester, PA right out of high school. Then went on to work for Bethel Township Police Department, Chichester Township Police Department, Chichester School District, and numerous part-time jobs.
As a teen, he was known to hang out at the Boothwyn Fire Department where he became a lifetime member. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and his annual vacation in Ocean City, MD with family. In his early years, he enjoyed boating, water skiing, snow skiing in VT and Canada, and family vacations in Wildwood, NJ. His passion for cars and speed in his teens later transitioned to a 1937 Ford Street Rod, often seen driving around town. He traveled with friends to local car shows and many of the Nationals. He won 1st place at Nationals in Louisville, KY out of 11,000 cars, for the best use of color. An award he was very proud of.
He was a "pillar" in the Chichester Community, loved and respected by so many. Although he had been retired from the Upper Chichester Police Department for 20+ years, that job never left him. He was dedicated to sitting next to his scanner, listening every night and often saying "I gotta go, they need me".
His family was very important to him as were his numerous friends. He will surely be missed!
