Obituary of Leonard J. Arcus

Leonard J. Arcus, age 86, of Wilmington, DE passed away on June 24, 2024 at his residence. Born to Leonard and Laura Stipe Arcus in Chester, PA, he has been a resident of Wilmington for over 50 years. Leonard graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1957 and went on to serve his country in the US Navy. He was a former member of Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Church. A train collector and enthusiast, Leonard belonged to several local train clubs, as well as the Delaware Car Club. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and never missed an Eagles game. In his earlier years, he enjoyed boating. In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his wife, Joann Arcus, sister, Patricia D'Angelo, and stepmother, Rena Arcus. He is survived by his daughter, Kristine (Robert) Moses, grandchildren, Michael Moses, and Orion (Ashley) Moses, great grandchild, Ace, and brother, Anthony Arcus. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes, 21 W. 8th St, Marcus Hook, PA from 9:30-10:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
