Obituary of Madlyn Elaine Singleton

Madlyn "Elaine" Singleton, age 71, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on July 30, 2024, at Chester County Hospital. Born in Chester, PA, and raised in Chester and Linwood, PA, Elaine had made her home in Boothwyn for the past 34 years.

She was a graduate of Chichester High School and earned her Associate’s degree from the University of Delaware. Elaine was a dedicated executive assistant to the CEO of Comcast, where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 2022. 

Elaine found joy in gardening, decorating, and shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Faries and Mary Emory Orner, and her husband, Harry F. Smith Jr., who passed away in 2019. Elaine is survived by her three children, Christine Nyemah, Edward (Amanda) Kline, and Carley(Mike) Kline; her three siblings, Colleen (Edward) Riegel, James (Theresa) Faries, and Joseph (Jamie) Faries; and six grandchildren, Corbyn, Damian, Daniel, Jax, Jake, and Serenity.
