Rosalie and I first met when we were 2 ½ or 3 shyly peeking at one another from behind our mothers’ skirts. We would become lifelong neighbors and friends. We began first grade together and graduated high school together. We attended one another’s wedding and shared the joy of becoming mothers. We shared secrets and laughter and sorrow. Others have written such beautiful things about Rosalie and I can attest from her earliest days she was a child of God. Even strangers knew there was something sweet and special about her. It keeps ringing in my ears “well done thy good and faithful servant”. May her memory be a lesson and blessing to all of us.

I will always remeber Rose's lovely smile. Whenever I went to the church office, there she would be smiling with a bowl of chocolates on the counter. She knew my name, but always called me "honey." We would talk about our children, and I remember her excitement about the birth of her granddaughter. As my children grew, they were fortunate enough to see Rose when they were summer workers in the parish. My daughter was lucky enough to work side by side with her, helping with office duties. They both remember all the staff and workers sharing lunch together. It was hard for me to tell them about her passing. I am blessed to live in the same neighborhood as her daughter. Rose's smile lives on when I see her daughter's smile. Thank you, dear Rose, for touching the heart of all who knew you. May you rest in peace.

Rose was the first person I met at St.Cornelius. She was gentle and welcoming that day and over the many years that followed I never saw her loving generosity waver. Without saying a word she made us feel special. She loved her family and I loved seeing her smile when I asked how they were doing. We will keep you all in our prayers!
